Triangle Reporter
Email: Ilin.Chen@news14.com

Ilin is happy to call the Triangle home now, after spending about three years as a reporter in the Fayetteville newsroom. She now resides in Raleigh with her husband.

Ilin joined the News 14 Carolina team in August 2005 after working for a year in Alaska as an anchor/reporter for the NBC affiliate. While in the frozen north, she covered major events like the 2004 elections and won the Alaska Broadcaster Association's Goldie Award for her coverage of the record 6.7 million acre wildfire season.

Ilin graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Psychology. She is also the recipient of the Don R. Mellett Prize for broadcast journalism and a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, the journalism honor society.

Ilin is currently a member of the North Carolina chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association. She is also part of Time Warner Cable's Diversity Council.

Feel free to email her with travel or activity suggestions, recipes, and of course, any story ideas or suggestions.
