Meteorologist Kristy Blasey
Kristy Blasey is an original member of the News 14 Carolina Weather on the Ones Team. Since she left the station in 2005, she has worked on a part-time basis to help give the staff Meteorologists time off for vacations and personal days.
Kristy is originally from Central Illinois. After attending Eastern Illinois University and receiving a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication, she traveled down to Mississippi State University.
After receiving her master’s degree in Broadcast Meteorology, Kristy began her weather career as a weekend meteorologist in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at KFVS-TV. After a year in Missouri, she traveled up the Mississippi River to La Crosse, Wis., where she worked the morning show for WXOW-TV, News 19.
Kristy first came to News 14 Carolina in March 2002 and left in 2005 to become an advertising sales rep for News14 Carolina. With her knowledge of News 14, she was a natural fit to help bring News 14 Carolina to the retail community.
Kristy currently works full time for ZSpotlight.com (an online entertainment guide) as a Senior Account Manager. When Kristy has time off, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and taking her dog Tucker for runs and trips to the dog park.
