Anchor Tim Boyum
Tim was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and attended Saint Cloud State University where he earned a BS in Mass Communication with an emphasis in journalism.
He joined News 14 Carolina for the launch in 2002 from NBC's affiliate station in Eureka, California, KIEM-TV. In addition to anchoring our evening news, he also produces and hosts our weekly show called Political Connections.
For News 14 Carolina, Tim has covered Hurricane Isabel, the Michael Peterson murder trial, the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals, the 2005 Final Four, the 2004 and 2008 Democratic National Conventions, John Edwards' 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns, and numerous other big stories closer to home. During the 2008 election season he also had numerous one on one sit down interviews with Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Tim lives in Raleigh with his wife, Melanie, and son, Chase. In 2007, they married in the Outer Banks. In his free time, Tim enjoys weekends at the beach and watching college basketball.
