CHARLOTTE – The Queen City has been listed as one of Wells Fargo’s “Hubquarters.”

In a letter to investors on the bank’s Web site, CEO John Stumpf mentioned Charlotte as one of three cities with a large amount of Wells employees and businesses.

Stumpf also wrote about the need to cut $5 billion in expenses. Job cuts are expected, but it’s unknown when those layoffs will happen, or where. Stumpf has previously said that he wants to keep as much talent as possible.

Wells Fargo finalized its acquisition of Charlotte-based Wachovia at the end of 2008.
