Authorities make major pot bust
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- On Tuesday, Iredell County authorities made their second big marijuana bust in the past few weeks.

At a house on Tomlin Mill Road, deputies collected hundreds of marijuana plants. In one room there was a trap door that led to bags of hydra-marijuana, valued at $600 an ounce. Another trap door led to rows of plants.

The home was equipped with a watering, lighting, and ventilation system. Deputies say it is the most elaborate operations they'd ever seen.

The homeowner, William Sherill, was arrested and charged with possession and manufacture of drugs.

Earlier this month, Iredell County sheriff’s collected 675 marijuana plants from a house next door to Tuesday's bust. They do not believe the neighbors knew about each other's operations.
