Spike for the cure to breat cancer

RALEIGH -- The Spike for the Cure volleyball tournament was Saturday, helping draw attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It was an effort from the Susan G. Komen Foundation to find a cure for the disease. Volleyball players said the tournament was a great way to have fun and support a great cause

"I don't know anybody personally in my life that has had a problem with it, but there are lots of people out there,” said Logan Barber, one of the player. “It's an awful disease affecting a lot of lives and anything you can do to help, might as well go out and support it."

This was the second Spike for the Cure. All proceeds from entry fees and donations will benefit the Triangle affiliate of the foundation.
