CHAPEL HILL -- A Chapel Hill construction worker survived a fall into a 10 foot to 15 foot trench late Wednesday morning after a crane tipped over the truck he was in. Emergency crews pulled the man out of the trench after he was stuck there for nearly two hours.

The accident happened at 410 McCauley Street behind a power plant on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill.

Officials say the crane tipped over at the site of the campus' co-generation facility.

Durham Trench Rescue, Chapel Hill fire, and South Orange rescue were all dispatched to the scene.
