SUMMERFIELD -- The 2007 Holiday Showcase of Komes kicks off this week.
"It's fun for us, enjoyable for us and we get to give back to the community," said builder Tim Glen with Combs Incorporated.
Greensboro builders are decking the halls, as well as a few other rooms this week, for the second annual showcase.
"Whether you're looking to build, to buy, to remodel or simply look to decorate for the holidays, there's something for everyone," said Cheryl Collins, of the Greensboro Builders Association.
Seven homes, ranging from $250,000 to just over $1 million, will be decked out for the holidays and on display -- for a small fee of course. All the net proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity.

"Providing housing for our area citizens is very important to us," Collins said. "And so to give back and be able to achieve the dream of homeownership has been very gratifying for our builders."
Like Combs Incorporated, the company behind a $1.65 million mini-estate in Summerfield.
"We've put a lot of touches in this house such as what we've talked in the floors. A lot of walnut work in the staircases and things like that. Tile. We've done reclaimed beams in certain rooms," Glen said.
But if the 7,200-square-foot, five-bedroom beauty is a little too pricey -- Glen says not to worry.
"It's not just about selling a house here," he said. "It's also about building other houses for people to have a place to live that they can call home."
Over the past five years, the Greensboro Builders Association has built 32 Habitat homes.
The 2007 Holiday Showcase of Homes is starts this Thursday. For a list of houses, you can pick up a book at any area Harris Teeter or Lowes Home Improvement stores. And while you're there you can also get a $5 off coupon. Tickets are $15.
