UNCC students organize war protest
CHARLOTTE -- Protests are popping up across the nation this week as we mark the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq.
A group of students from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, including the Young Democrats and the Muslim Student Association, will stage their own demonstration Thursday morning.
The protestors will gather at 11:30 a.m. at the Fretwell parking lot and then march to the Belk Tower. The event is expected to last until 3:30 p.m., and will feature speakers, poetry and music. The students also plan to call their members of Congress.
A similar protest was held Wednesday along East Boulevard in the Queen City.
