Friends remember SunDrop victim
Anyone with information should call police.
CONCORD, N.C. -- Police still have no arrest in the murders of two Concord residents.
Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles were gunned down at the SunDrop Bottling Company in Concord on Friday morning. Sources close to the investigation say 44-year-old Darrell Noles was applying for a job when he was shot and killed.
David Olmstead says he’s known Noles for about five years. Noles was the choir director at Bright Light Baptist Church, where Olmstead plays the guitar in the church band. "He was top notch, he was a really nice guy,” said Olmstead of Noles. “He was a very nice man… gentle giant. Everybody that knew him would say the same thing. He was just a really nice guy.”

The church’s pastor was out of town when he heard of Noles’ death. He calls the murder “devastating,” and describes Noles as a “good family man.”
Police say the motive for the shooting appears to be robbery. Those who knew the victims say it was just senseless.
The other victim in the shooting – Barnhardt – worked for SunDrop for 18 years. Her daughters and son-in-law did not comment publicly about her death.
As of Saturday morning, the Concord Police Department says there is no suspect in custody.
