CHARLOTTE -- It's time once again for Holiday on Ice in uptown Charlotte. The ice skating rink at the Green on South Tryon Street is set to open at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

This is the sixth year for the holiday tradition, which hosts thousands of skaters every year.

It costs $7 to skate and $3 to rent ice skates.

The rink will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. It runs through Jan. 9.
