RALEIGH – The Arthritis Foundation held its annual Jingle Bell Run and Walk Saturday. The national event helps fight the country's most common cause of disability.
One runner says it's the only 5K she can participate in now because of the disease.
“I am really fortunate that with the disease that I am even able to run at all,” runner Gail Hafley said. “I used to be a competitive runner, but I'm not anymore, but I do this because it's for a really good cause.”
To help get everyone in the Christmas spirit, some runners traded in traditional running shorts for themed costumes while others tied bells on their shoelaces.
