CHARLOTTE -- A driver lost control of a vehicle Thursday morning and slammed into an east Charlotte church building.

The accident happened at Laywers Road Baptist Church, near the intersection of Lawyers Road and Idlewild Road North.

No injuries were reported but there was damage to the church and the mailbox outside.

There's no word on what caused the driver to swerve off the road.
