Man charged in Shelby hit-and-run

SHELBY, N.C. -- One man is under arrest in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident Tuesday night in Shelby.
Police the driver hit a mother, her boyfriend and her son as they walked across Broad Street around 9:30 p.m. Curtis Jordan, 45, and the 8-year-old boy were killed.
Beverly Jackson, 28, is being treated at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Police say 21-year-old Lucas Rash is being held in the Cleveland County jail under a $250,000 bond. He is charged with driving while impaired, felony hit-and-run and death by motor vehicle.
