Man shot, injured by masked suspect

Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday on Elgywood Lane.
CHARLOTTE -- A man is in the hospital after being shot by a masked man Wednesday night in northeast Charlotte.
Police say 33-year-old Darrell Berringer was walking along Elgywood Lane around 10 p.m. when a black man wearing a mask jumped out of a wooded area. He was armed and shot Berringer several times.
Berringer was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information is urged to call police.
