Discovery Place ranks 5th for most visited site

CHARLOTTE – Discovery Place in uptown Charlotte was the fifth most visited museum or historic attraction in North Carolina his past year.
The kids’ museum is currently undergoing a $31 million renovation. Some 666,000 people went through the Discovery Place turnstiles in 2008.
The Biltmore House leads the list for the fifth consecutive year. The North Carolina Zoo and Museum of Natural Sciences were next on the list.
The N.C. Auto Racing Hall of Fame in Mooresville came in 21st.
Matthews-based Carolina Publishing Associates put together the annual survey.
