CHARLOTTE -- The Mecklenburg County manager said on Tuesday that the county needs to cut another $6.9 million from the budget this fiscal year.
Mecklenburg Co. faces an additional $12 million shortfall because of low sales tax revenue from December. The cuts include $500,000 from Central Piedmont Community College and $2 million from hospitals.
County Manager Harry Jones also suggested closing libraries one day each week for the rest of the fiscal year, which is the end of June.
