CHARLOTTE – The board of trustees at Central Piedmont Community College will meet on Wednesday to discuss next year’s county budget.
CPCC has been asked to cut $500,000 from payments Mecklenburg County designated for the college in this year’s budget. The request comes at a time when county officials are trying to make up for projected budget shortfalls.
In February, County Manager Harry Jones told officials to immediately cut more than $142,000 from its budget, even though the college is currently seeing a 19 percent jump in enrollment.
