UNCC issues advisory to keep H1N1 woes low around campus

CHARLOTTE – UNC Charlotte is taking steps to keep H1N1 from becoming a major problem on campus with the school year now under way.

In a letter to parents, school officials said they are working closely with state and local health departments to plan for the upcoming flu season.

If a student is sick, they need to be at home or in their dorm rooms and not in classes. Officials do not plan on isolating students with flu-like symptoms.

Vaccines will be available on campus in the fall. Parents can send flu kit care packages, including acetaminophen, a digital thermometer, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, Gatorade drink mix packets and dried soup packets.
