FAYETTEVILLE – The Robeson County principal who was shot in the face while heading to work has started a blog to ask for help from the community.
James Hunt was heading to Fairmont Middle School in April when someone pulled up beside him on Davis Road and shot him with a shotgun in the face and hands. For over three months, Hunt and his family have been looking for answers as he recovers from the attack.
In the blog, Hunt briefly describes what happened and discusses his road to recovery. The blog also provides information on how people can donate money anonymously to help pay for medical expenses as the principal says he has over $50,000 in medical bills and is not receiving workers comp.
Hunt is seeking information that could lead to the arrest of the people responsible for the shooting. In an interview with News 14 Carolina, he stated that the Hunt family has been living in another city because the shooter is still on the streets.
"I have been displaced for three months and the guilty people [or] person is still free in Robeson County,” said Hunt. “I am very frustrated about that; it is almost reversed, twisted the way it should be going right now."
