WINSTON-SALEM -- People interested in a career in healthcare turned out in Winston-Salem for a nursing and education career fair.
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center sponsored the event, which featured information about nursing schools and certification programs. Organizers say there is a strong need in the health care industry for qualified people.
"We really need nurses to begin with. And we want them to go further and get a bachelors degree,” said Tina Thompson, a nurse for Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. “And then once they get that bachelors we want them to go on and get that masters and just have them go on and keep furthering their careers as much as they can."
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has been ranked one of the top hospitals in the country for the past 15 years.
