ASHEBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Zoo will remain closed to the public on Wednesday.

Because of snow and ice remaining on walkways and service roads from the recent winter storm, zoo officials decided to err on the side of caution and keep the park closed.

The park is expected to reopen on Thursday.
