CARY – People upset with Cary’s proposed annexation of their neighborhoods will protest on Thursday night with a Cary Tea Party, as some activists are calling for “No Taxation Without Representation.”

The rally will be held outside of town hall during the council’s regular scheduled meeting. At that meeting, the council will hear from the public on the proposed annexation, which involves about 160 homes in 10 separate areas – including homes near Carpenter Upchurch, Jenks Carpenter and Reedy Creek roads.

In March, the council could vote on approving the plan. If passed, it could become official June 30.

The protest begins at 5:30 p.m. The council meeting is at 6:30 p.m.
