RAEFORD, N.C. -- A teenage baby-sitter who authorities believe ran away from home with a 9-month-old girl has been found safe with the baby in Alabama.

The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said 17-year-old Renesha Griner ran off with Saniya Purcell Saturday morning while baby sitting at her Raeford home.

Investigators say she convinced a former boyfriend living in a small Alabama town that the baby was his.

Sheriff's deputies are on their way to pick up the child. Griner is being held for questioning by police in Alabama.

So far, no charges have been filed.
