RALEIGH – Two former employees from Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro were found guilty of punching and kicking a patient with bipolar disorder after an appeal in the same case.
Taniko Upton and William Johnson were first found guilty in November. The appealed that verdict and headed back to court for a jury trial.
Both are sentenced to 60 days in jail and must pay a $250 fine. That’s stricter than the four weekends in jail and 50 hours of community service they were sentenced to after their first trial.
