RALEIGH – People banned together in downtown Raleigh Saturday night while enjoying some bands.

Band Together N.C. held its annual charity concert. The organization was formed following the Sept. 11 attacks to raise money for Triangle-area charities.

This year, funds raised benefit the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, an organization which provides mental health services for young children. Organizers say there's good reason why they chose to help that nonprofit this year.

"There are poster children for cancer victims, but there are not for children with emotional illnesses, so this is one way for us to reach out behind the scenes," Danny Rosin, the co-founder of Band Together N.C., said.

Band Together N.C. has raised more than $128,000 for the Lucy Daniels Center so far this year.
