RALEIGH – Judges crowned the new Miss North Carolina Saturday night in Raleigh.

The Oak City's own Miss Raleigh, Katherine Southard, took the title, winning the crown over 27 other contestants.

Southard showed off her ballet skills for the talent portion of the contest and represents the Scoliosis: Ahead of the Curve Foundation.

She will now go on to represent the Tar Heel State in the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas in January.
