New commissioner named for lottery
RALEIGH -- There's a new member of the North Carolina Education Lottery Commission.

Pam Medlin of Greensboro has been appointed to the commission by Gov. Mike Easley, who made the announcement Monday.

Medlin is president of a temporary staffing services company. She replaces Linda Carlisle, who was an original commission member.

Lottery spokeswoman Pam Walker said Carlisle asked not to be reappointed.

Medlin's term runs through August 2012.

The governor, House speaker and Senate president pro tempore appoints the commission's nine members.
