Nowitzki lifts Mavericks past Bobcats 98-97 in OT
DALLAS — Dirk Nowitzki hit a 10-foot jumper with 1.8 seconds left in overtime, and the Dallas Mavericks continued their dominance over Charlotte with a 98-97 win over the Bobcats on Saturday night.
Nowitzki scored 36 points, including 18 in the fourth quarter and overtime, to help the Mavericks improve to 11-0 all-time against the Bobcats.
Nowitzki hit a fadeaway over Boris Diaw from the left elbow, capping a frantic ending where the teams exchanged the lead six times in the final minute.
Stephen Jackson scored 28 points, but missed badly on a 3-point attempt that could have won it just before the buzzer. Gerald Wallace had 23 points and 16 rebounds, and Raymond Felton chipped in with 20 points for Charlotte.
