Every team in News 14 Carolina’s 14 to Watch list stayed put after the first week of playoffs. The western part of the state has managed to rule the list for most of the season so far.

Judge declares Terry Sanford football season over

The season is over for the Terry Sanford High School football team. A judge has ruled the team is ineligible to continue in the state playoffs. The ruling means New Hanover High School will now get a bye next round in the playoffs.

A judge has not ruled whether Terry Sanford High School can continue to participate in the rest of the state high school football playoffs. Last week, the school was forced to forfeit all of its regular season games because of an ineligible player.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has ended Terry Sanford High School’s football season. The association has also forced Terry Sanford to forfeit its first playoff game against Pine Forrest, giving them a bye.
