MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- The Iredell County woman accused of killing her husband is expected to stand trial this week.

Misty Witherspoon claims the death of former Concord police officer Quinn Witherspoon was an accident.

Meanwhile, she is expected to be sentenced for 37 counts of embezzlement and three counts of financial identity fraud at the conclusion of the murder trial.

Witherspoon was charged with embezzling more than $27,000 from her church, Whitman Park Baptist, in Mooresville. She pleaded guilty to those charges in February.
