RALEIGH -- Investigators are still searching for Jenna Nielsen's killer, after the young, pregnant mother died six months ago while delivering newspapers in Raleigh.

“Unfortunately, you don't go back to the good times,” said Kevin Blaine, Jenna’s father. “You go back to that day.”

That day is June 14. It’s the day that changed Nielsen's family forever. Before sunrise that morning, someone stabbed the young, mother of two who was eight-months pregnant with her third son, Ethen. Her body was left behind the AmeriKing Food Mart, where she had been delivering newspapers for USA Today.

“He didn't just kill two people, when he killed my daughter and my grandson,” Blaine explained. “He killed part of us all.”

“It's something I think about every day, more than once.”

Six months after the murder, investigators are still trying to find out who killed Nielson.

“You begin to wonder, ‘will they ever catch this guy?’” Blaine said.

But Nielson’s family is not giving up hope. Since the murder, they have continuously passed out fliers advertising a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. The fliers also show a composite sketch of a man police believe may know something about her murder.

He's believed to be a Hispanic male in his late teens or early twenties, about 5’3” with long, shiny black hair. Investigators say he's very skinny with pronounced abdominal muscles and a slender face.

Nielson’s family hopes the fliers and media attention will eventually help lead police to the killer.

“It's one phone call away,” Blaine explained. “That's all we need is somebody that remembers something, that just happened to see something or hear something.”

“There's a killer on the loose out there,” he added. “If he'll do this to an 8.5-month pregnant mother, he'll do this to anyone.”

Blaine says the one thing his family has learned this year, is that time does not heal all wounds.

“They've taken away something we can never get back,” he said as he choked back tears. “They need to realize there are two kids out there that are going to grow up without a mother. No one should have to do that.”
