Bikers ride to donate
CHARLOTTE – With boxes on the backs of their bikes, motorcycle riders from throughout the state and even from Virginia rode to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte Saturday to drop off shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse.

The presents they carried were packed and prepared for children around the world, and were donated to Operation Christmas Child, which will distribute the gifts.

The library collected 1,000 presents this week. 500 of those came in on Saturday alone.

“Seeing the children get them, but the children also understanding that these are done and really put together with the spirit for them, to help them understand that there are people around the world that really care for them,” Ken Barun of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association said.

The bikers said they’re there to help people in need.

“The joy in it is putting those things in there and just in your mind, seeing their faces, and the joy that they’re going to feel just by opening it,” Lydia Williams of Concord said.
