LAKE WACCAMAW, N.C. – The man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a groom and two other members of the wedding party now faces second-degree murder charges.

The Fayetteville Observer reported a jury indicted 43-year-old John Daniel Kelley of Whiteville.

The April 18 crash killed 23-year-old Brandon Tedder less than an hour before he was to be married. 13-year-old Daniel Skyes and 19-year-old Brandon Lee also died in the crash. They were part of the wedding party.

The accident happened on Highway 214 between Hallsboro and Lake Waccamaw. Kelley’s teenage son was also in the car but was not seriously hurt.
