CHARLOTTE – Two people were killed Wednesday in a rush hour accident on Pineville-Matthews Road near Johnston Road.

Investigators say 71-year-old Ralph Herrick crossed into oncoming lanes and hit 48-year-old Henry Clark Holliday’s car near McMullen Creek Park. Both drivers died at the scene.

A younger passenger in Holliday’s car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
