NORTH CAROLINA -- With the current focus on going green, many people think about recycling bottles and cans, but some might not realize you can also use recycled cleaning products.

Kyle Jodice with Let’s Go Green said some products are made with harsh chemicals that go down sinks and sewers, ending up in lakes, rivers and streams. He has a line of products that are soy-based instead of chemical-based. They contain only natural ingredients so they’re more environmentally friendly.

There are laundry detergents, cleaning products for your kitchen and glass, and even kitchen scrubbers.

"We carry a line of sponges to do our cleaning and they're all made out of recycled materials,” said Jodice. “The kitchen scrubber is made out of organic walnut shells, so we're recycling there. All these are natural ingredients, recycled materials, so we're using good products for the environment."

Another thing people can do to help the environment is to use a canvas bag while shopping. That way so many plastic bags won’t be used during shopping.
