STALLINGS, N.C. -- Nearly 10 months after a Union County house fire that killed two children, the family is blaming the maker of its car.
Olivia, 4, and Elena Parry, 5, died inside their home on Cyprus Court on Dec. 27, 2006. Their mother and 3-year-old sister made it out safely.
Investigators say the fire started in the front dash of a 2006 Honda Pilot that was parked inside the garage. The ignition was turned off.
A lawyer representing the father, Patrick Parry, has filed a lawsuit in Mecklenburg County, suing Honda for breach of warranty and negligence.
The lawsuit claims there were problems with the SUV's wiring at the time it was leased to the family.
