RALEIGH -- Raleigh dogs now have a place to play at a new dog park.

The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department held a dedication on Saturday for Carolina Pines Park. It's located at 2305 Lake Wheeler Road.

Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department Marketing Coordinator Cara McLeod said the bond between man and his best friend is one worth celebrating.

"Dogs bring us a little something special to our lives,” she said. “Whether through books or through their unconditional love and affection that always seems to make us smile."

The new park truly gives dogs room to roam. All canines can explore the park without a leash.
