TRIANGLE -- Wolfpack and Tar Heel fans are taking their rivalry from the courts to the water tap.

Both N.C. State and UNC Chapel Hill are having a contest to see who can conserve the most water. So far, NCSU students have a slight edge in the contest that began last November.

They lead with a 14 percent reduction versus UNC-CH’s 12 percent.

The idea for the challenge grew from concern over the state’s continuing drought. The final tally for the contest will be announced in March at the ACC Tournament.
