RALEIGH -- Raleigh police arrested a Sanderson High School teacher on Monday for taking indecent liberties with a student.
Police say the charge stems from offenses over the weekend with teacher Shannon Lynn Best and an 18-year-old student.
Authorities are continuing to investigate whether or not any other offenses took place at other times.
Even though the victim is over the age of consent, the concern is that she is a student.
The Wake County Jail released Best Monday night. She taught social studies at Sanderson High and resigned Monday.
