CHARLOTTE -- The brother of murdered UNC Charlotte student Irina Yarmolenko is speaking out. He wants answers, and to see the murderer behind bars.
Yarmolenko, 20, was found in Mount Holly earlier this month. An autopsy showed that she suffocated. Friday, Mount Holly Police released a surveillance tape of one of the last times she was known to have been seen, dropping off donations at a UNCC-area Goodwill.

Mount Holly Police have released a surveillance tape of Yarmolenko visiting a Goodwill near campus to drop off some donations hours before she was found.
"We're still in shock, we're kind of numb,” described her brother Pavel. He says that it seems like local officials “have their hearts set” on finding the murderer.
So do Irina’s friends and classmates. UNCC contributed $10,000 to Crime Stoppers to help find the killer, who Pavel wants to “really realize the true extent of the damage that he has done to our family and our community."
Pavel says Mount Holly Police are focusing so much of their efforts on finding his sister’s killer that it’s taking away resources from the town. Anyone with information that may help them can call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
