Hundreds of volunteers will also help on the project.
CHARLOTTE -- A family that has spent most of their lives helping others is getting help themselves thanks to “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
“We’re really excited to be here; really excited to be helping out the King family,” said show member Michael Moloney. He and his fellow crewmembers are working on what used to be a free daycare on Sudbury Road.
The home became infested with mold, and now the show has come in, torn down the house and is ready to build it up again to help the King family.
News 14 Carolina’s Johnell Johnson was there as a family’s home was torn down to make way for their new one.
"When you sow, it always comes back and we can see that as this family has given to the lives of children and investing in the lives of youth, they are being increased and blessed,” said family friend Valerie Sewell.
People from across the state made the trip to Charlotte in order to help the family out and work on the home. The show will be taping in Charlotte the rest of the week. The public is welcomed to attend.
They are expecting people from across the state to watch the revealing of the new home which is scheduled to take place Sunday. The show is expected to air in October.
