CHARLOTTE -- A pit bull attack has sent two people to the hospital; one of them a 10-year-old boy. This comes less than a week after an 80-year old man was attacked and saved by a CMPD officer.
The dog got free of its confinement in the backyard of a west Charlotte home. Isaiah Crockett said he and some friends were playing with the dog when it broke free from its chain. It left gashes in Crockett’s arms, his back and backside.
"My cousin and myself, we ran outside and we started beating the dog to try to get him off of him, we were kicking him and beating him and he just wouldn't let go," said Isaiah’s mother Arisha Coleman.
The owner of the dog wasn’t home to comment.
The dog eventually let go, then turned on Isaiah’s relative, biting through her lower leg.
Earlier this week, the 80-year old man was attacked by his family’s pit bull in his own backyard. He was left with 32 stitches, a broken finger and a number of bruises.
Isaiah escaped with 10 stitches in his arms, which his cousin’s wounds were too deep to stitch up at the time.
The owner of the dog wasn’t home to comment.
