Man seeks miracle, finds Roseborough

Parish Goode didn't think he would find anything, but went searching anyways.
CHARLOTTE -- A 73-year-old woman who was lost for over 48 hours was found alive Thursday night, after days of searching by police uncovered few clues.

Parish Goode wasn’t in town when Cora Roseborough went missing, nor does he know her or her family. But when he arrived home from his beach vacation on Thursday and saw police, he wanted to help.

“I stopped, being a nosy neighbor trying to find out what was going on,” he explained. “I was scared someone got hurt."

After finding out what was going on, Goode set out on his own in to the woods behind his home to help find the elderly woman. “I was just thinking I would go back down there and look, not thinking I would find anybody.”

In the end, Goode was able to accomplish something that nearly 2.5 days of police searching using helicopters, ATVs, search dogs and a system that calls and alerts neighbors about the situation was able to accomplish: He found Roseborough.

“I jumped to the other side of the creek and there she was sitting in the mud,” he said. “It was really just a miracle for us to find her though.”

Roseborough, who suffers from dementia, had barely any clothes on when she was found. She also had a broken ankle and was severely dehydrated. She is now at CMC in serious condition.
