Details change in Dilworth-area rape
09/16/2008 07:16 AM
By: News 14 Carolina Web Staff

CHARLOTTE -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say statements made by the victim of a rape in Dilworth earlier this month were not all true.

The victim said she was kidnapped September 5 while walking on East Boulevard near the Greek Festival and then raped by three Hispanic men. Police now say she voluntarily left with a man who drover her to Hollis Avenue. That man was not involved in the sexual assault.

Two suspects met up with them on Hollis Avenue who were involved in the rape. Police say they knew the victim.

The woman provided false information about herself and the case because she had outstanding warrants for her arrest.
