NORTH CAROLINA -- American Red Cross disaster relief trucks are on the way to Fort Worth, Texas on Wednesday to help residents recover from Hurricane Ike.
Local volunteers started packing food and other supplies Wednesday morning for their trip. One volunteer is making the trip with her husband, and says her job is to provide comfort and a sense of security.
"They are traumatized, they don't know what to do next, and if you can give them a kind word and tell them you're there to help them you make them feel good and it also makes you feel good,” said volunteer Judy Malpass.
