Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama brought his campaign back to the Tar Heel State this weekend, speaking in Asheville on Sunday.
Saturday, Obama made a surprise appearance at the North Carolina Democratic Party’s Vance-Aycock Dinner at the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa.
Meanwhile, republican presidential candidate John McCain spent the weekend in Arizona, preparing for the second debate against Obama on Tuesday. McCain has a scheduled campaign rally in New Mexico on Monday before heading to Tennessee for the debate.
The debate will begin at 9 p.m. at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. The format will be like that of a town hall meeting, with all questions coming from the audience or participants over the internet.
Tom Brokaw will host the debate.
