MONTREAT, N.C. -- Ruth Graham, the wife of evangelist Billy Graham, died Thursday after her condition worsened. She was 87 years old.
Graham had slipped in and out of a coma since Wednesday morning. A family spokesman said Ruth Graham's conditioned had worsened Thursday as she was less responsive to family and caregivers.

Ruth Graham's husband and children huddled at her bedside until she passed away. According to the family statement, Mrs. Graham, at her request, was treated at home with minimal artificial support.
Ruth Graham rallied briefly after treatment for pneumonia two
weeks ago, but her health worsened because of her weakened
condition.
