Haunted Horror
If you're looking for a fright this Halloween, you'll want to head to Snow Camp. See why.
SNOW CAMP - If you're looking for a fright this Halloween, you'll want to head to Snow Camp.

"It is like being in a film set in a horror movie," said co-creator Starr Jones.

The Original Hollywood Horror Show is back for another encore performance. It's 18th to be exact. But it's not for the faint of heart Jones admits.

"We have adults that will start through the show and realize, 'this is a little more intense than I anticipated, so I'm not going to go through' and they have to come out."

Set deep in the woods, visitors go through a series of mazes filled with haunted rooms, a mortuary and temple of doom. A Hollywood production with a hometown flair.

Co-creators Starr Jones and his brother Dean opened the show not far from their childhood home in Belmont. But these days they're better known for their work in Hollywood.

“Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 we worked on those. And of course all the Star Trek shows, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine," Jones said.

Now the Emmy award winning make-up artists spend most of their time in Los Angeles, working on big blockbuster productions with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Then during their off season Jones says they bring the magic back home.

"Basically what we do is we take things made from films and we ship it back here and utilize it in the show."

And it's paid off.

"They love it," Jones said of the attendees. "We have people that come out every year. We have people that bring their kids out. We have people that were kids when they first started coming to the show and now they are bringing their kids out. It's really become a tradition."

A tradition Jones says will continue as long as there are people to scare.

The Original Hollywood Horror is in Snow Camp, and runs through Saturday, November 3rd. Tickets are $20. For more information, click HERE.
