Stanford Lee Ray
THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Police in Thomasville have issued a warrant for the arrest of a former Thomasville City Schools employee. They say Stanford Lee Ray engaged in sexual misconduct with a 17-year-old student in 2006.
At the time, Ray was working for Thomasville High School as a dropout prevention coordinator. Police say the former student who made the accusations gave birth to a child in July 2007 but it is not known if Ray is the father.
"That's speculation; that allegation is yet to be proven and will probably be proven in the trial process," said Sgt. Les Rickard of the Thomasville Police Department.
Ray no longer works for the school system and police have been unable to find him to make an arrest. If you have any information on his whereabouts, police ask you call Thomasville CrimeStoppers at (336) 476-8477.
